Who hasn’t watched the movie yet? Though it was just an account of Freddie Mercury’s life, I still salute the producers for portraying a better story of his life. Movies are fictional, so what do you expect. Although he had led a tragic, full of controversy life, but at least in the movie it celebrated his love for his family, his friends, his music and his band. Don’t get me wrong, I am not a fan of his life, but I am a big fan of his music and skills.
One of my favorite among his songs is We Are The Champion, which was sang in the movie at their Live Aid concert. The particular song always makes me nostalgic. It always brings me back to my athlete days. It was just short but very meaningful. At the end of every competition, awarding time, whether we be winners or not, We Are The Champion would be played and all of us, athletes, would sing along with it, exchange congratulations and smiles. Those were such elated moments. I guess it is every athlete’s song. Thank you Queen.
We are the champions, my friend
And we’ll keep on fighting ’til the end
We are the champions, we are the champions
No time for losers cause we are the champion
Of the world
