Last weekend was a movie marathon of 3 great movies.

First: The Blind Side. It is a story of Micheal Oher and the family that helped him. A nice story. It also depicts how teachers/educators could shape a person’s, even high schooler’s lives, and not only the preschoolers. How one person could strive to be someone when he is motivated to do so.

Second: Julie and Julia. A blogger’s challenge to cook the recipes published in a book in one year. An amusing feel-good movie about the lives of the two characters.

Third: Avatar. I was moved by this movie. That life is all about relationships and connections rather than wealth and selfishness.

3 movies, a great weekend. You should see them.

It was raining since morning yesteray and we slept at Balulang again for another movie marathon amidst the busy week. It was unplanned, again. So it was past lunchtime that we left Balulang and it was still raining. I left my umbrella at home and I only got my black bandana with me to shield ny head from the pouring rain. Yet we braved the street and rode a multicab. When I arrived at my designated stop, I was again braving the rain and the rushing water from the upper level of the street. Yes it was dirty but its water is clear. I covered my head with my bandana but a later while my bandana too was so wet so I took it off and walked in the rain. La la la.. I missed doing that. I was still a child when I last bathe in the rain. I also found a 10-peso coin in the street which I picked up and kept in my wallet with no intention of spending it. When I got home, I was wet and played with my dogs in the rain. Hehe.. It was fun. Wish I could do that again. You should try it sometimes.

Just got back from my first out of time trip. Went to Agusan del Sur for my cousin’s burial. And in a way visited relatives whom I seldom see. I was shocked to know that some of my cousins are already with children. In fact, I saw 4 of them, less than 1-year olds, just yesterday. Weeh.. They were so cute. One of my cousin-in-laws gave birth yesterday, in time for me to visit her in the hospital. A big family.

I’m sorry to say I can’t make a full recap of my year, memory gap. Will do browsing of the events here on my blog nonetheless.

Anyway..

January. There was a suspension of classes due to the flood.

February. Mundane month at work.

March. Graduation of my students. Yehey!!

April. Of course, I wouldn’t miss the summer camp. Bought my first commercial plane ticket for a Davao-Cebu ride from my salary savings. So nice to enjoy it. Had lots of travel. Attended my cousin’s wedding. My 100th post. Hehe..

May. Continuation of the Davao summer camp. 1st charter plane right from Cagayan de Oro City to Cebu City for another summer camp. Weehh.. Bonded with the Mindanao team. T’were days to cherish.

June. The sad part of most nice stories are goodbyes. Dumaguete trip and the bondings that were so nice. School time once again and a problem that arose yet it was fine. I was fine.

July. Big day. The youths surprise. Time with Brother Bear.

August. Mountaintop moments. City fiesta. River trekking with my bro.

September. Start of my preschool classes. Start of nightly band practices as well. Nightly walk to DiviSoria and the talks that we do on our way.

October. An experience of faith. Stress. Smiles and laughter from family and friends of the same drive.

November. Davao City incident. The outpouring support and care of the Davao friends. Sembreak escapade.

December. Unplanned trekking from Balulang to Taguanao. White water rafting. Children’s play and handmime presentation. Davao visit again.

2009. So much had happened.

I am thankful for the jobs I have now. The ministry that fueled and recharges me.

I am thankful for the people of the same drive and conviction who had been with me in my journey with the youths.

I am thankful for the youths. So many memories, songs, moments, laughter, smiles and encouragement with them. They had been one of my joy the past year.

Thank you for a blessed and wonderful 2009.
