I was struck by Mari‘s prayer tonight, she said, “Lord bless our teachers.”

This week, a parent of one 2-year old boy I and my co-teacher assessed came and asked feedback about his kid’s status with our school. We asked every child wanting to enroll undergo an assessment for us teachers to know the child’s cognitive level. Since his child has special needs, we asked him to see our Directress, as per instruction. When he asked about his child’s special needs and the treatment and accommodations he’ll get despite knowing that the kid regressed for a time now and when he reacted about us mentioning that his kid banged his head, he reacted and blurted out angry words at us. Rendering my co-teacher stunned and speechless. He talked as if we were his servants, disrespecting our assessment results and observations on his child. Just then, our Directress heard and came out to entertain him, he was now begging that we accept his kid despite the treatments recommended for him. Our Directress’ decision will be based upon our assessment report and recommendation. Gush.. He came back that afternoon to submit a photocopy of the doctor’s diagnostic report, he didn’t make eye contact with me and my co-teacher and even interrupted me and my boss’ conversation. Damn.. Hadn’t he thought that its not our Directress who’ll be handling his kid but us teachers and he disrespected us just like that?  Shouted at us as if it was not part of our job to be reliable with our report and look after the child’s well-being? Hahayz.. We do understand that he is desperate to find a school who’ll accept his kid and teach him appropriately and school opening is fast approaching. But we wished he hadn’t treated us that way. We might lash back on his son. Hehe.. Kidding..
